Morogoro,Tanzania
From Fr. Brain Jerstice
I received an Easter Card from Father
Brian which enclosed two photographs, shown below. Father
Brian is a past Rector of the Salesian School at Blaisdon Hall
Father Brian is proud to display and
promote various goods received from the UK.
The first photo is of a Sanctuary Lamp
bracket made in Blaisdon, by a boy under Brother Alan
Garman’s tutelage. It
was first used in the for several years at Moshi and is now at
the Novitiate in Morogoro.
I wonder if we might be able to
establish which Boy made this bracket.
In any case we are always proud when anything from
Blaisdon and Brother Alan is put to good use, in Africa or
anywhere in the world.
The second photo shows some boys at
the Salesian Secondary Boarding School at Mafinga, Tanzania,
which is where Father Brain is now working..
In this case the goods, namely the balls and shirts
came from Farnborough. So
we congratulate Farnborough on their gifts.
Thanks, Father Brian, for keeping
us updated on small happenings in your territory.
Father
Brian tells me he is still putting to good use some of the
late Brother Tom Caulfield's tools. Remember the
excellent Missal Stand Father made using those tools of
the beloved Brother Tom, who was a Saint of a man, who truly
loved his pupils. The Salesian 'Loving Kindness' part of
the Salesian Preventive system of education, put daily to
great effect.
