About
the Catholic Children's Society (Westminster)’s 150th Anniversary
2009 is a momentous year
for the Catholic Children's Society (Westminster), as it is their 150th
Anniversary.
The Society has mounted an
exhibition at St Charles Square in London covering the Society's extensive
history. The exhibition takes a detailed look at our work since 1859 in a social
and historical context and is open by appointment to the public during office
hours from Monday to Friday.
Please ring Elise on 020 8969 5305 or email elisech@cathchild.org.uk if you would be interested in making an appointment to view the exhibition.
The Catholic Children's Society (Westminster) are also holding a special Thanksgiving Mass at Westminster Cathedral at 5.30pm on Wednesday 10th June—everyone is welcome. The Society will also be staging an exhibition of the Society's work over the last 150 years at Westminster Cathedral, in a chapel dedicated to St Joseph, during the month of June.
Schools will be celebrating the Anniversary on 28th June at the Choral High School Music Festival at the All Saints Pastoral Centre in London Colney, Hertfordshire, while the Society's volunteer committees will be staging fundraising events throughout the diocese.
And last but not least, the Society is inviting everyone to celebrate 150 years of the Catholic Children's Society (Westminster) by coming together with friends and family to hold a Giant Picnic on 14th June! If you would like to take part in this fundraising event, please register by Friday 29th May 2009 by contacting Elise on 020 8969 5305 or email elisech@cathchild.org.uk. You will receive a Giant Picnic pack with balloons, posters, ideas for games, food and fundraising.
