Blaisdon Reunion
Easter 2006
Once again the
Easter mini reunion turned out to be a great success for those turned
up. We started with Mass in St Michael's Church together with the
Blaisdon Parish at which Fr Aidan Murray, as Parish Priest celebrated
with Fr Sean Murray as National and Local Delegate concelebrated.
As is customary we all moved to the Salesian grave in St
Michael's graveyard where Father Sean led us in a few prayers and we
recited a decket of the Rosary and finished with a well sung Salve
Regina. This rendition of Salve Regina is getting better with
every reunion as all are becoming more familiar with the tune and the
Latin text. For many this is a wonderful remembrance of their
services at Blaisdon and/or St Joseph's at Enfield
As the Village Hall
was booked for a celebration of Frank Bayliss' life who died last
year, a truly great friend of the Past Pupils, we moved to the Kings
Head at Birdwood. Charles Springett, our President, had done his
usual and organised a room and coffees, teas and biscuits. John
Ward set up a presentation of the Blaisdon Brotherhood website which was
well received. Thereafter a good number stayed and had an
excellent lunch at the King Head before departing for home or elsewhere.
Some photos of
the event now follow:
