Benefactors' Mass 2006

As is now usual a number of Blaisdon Old Boys were invited and attended the annual thanksgiving Mass for the Benefactors of the Catholic Children's Society (Westminster), formerly and better known to Blaisdon Old Boys as "The Crusade of Rescue". The Mass was in the beautiful St. Etheldreda's Church in Ely Place, Holborn, EC1.
The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Bernard Longley and was supported by a charming children's group from Chiswick, who sang most of the responsorial elements whilst positioned on the Sanctuary. At the end of the Mass Bishop Bernard thanked a number of people, but one especially Audrey Barnet who recently has left the organisation as a result of a move of home. Audrey has become a firm favourite of Blaisdon and has always welcomed us and supported various visits and researches Norman and his group have undertaken. We wish Audrey much success in her new work, still with children and we look forward to her attending one of our Blaisdon Reunions in the near future where we can repay her great friendship.
