BRITISH HEROES OF THE HOLOCAUST Sister Agnes "Righteous Among Nations" Most of the boys who came to Blaisdon Hall in the first twenty years or more, came from homes that were run by 'The Sisters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul'. They came from all around the country, but mostly from such Homes in the London, or Southeast area of the UK. Sister Agnes was a Sister of Charity who, as you will see, actually worked in some of these homes in the Southeast, though she spent much, indeed most of her time abroad. This remarkable story of heroism, has only comparatively recently gained the oxygen of publicity. I am sure, therefore, that this will be of interest and be applauded by many Readers of the Blaisdon Brotherhood Website. We are always ready to give Credit where it is due. Here we have a truly heart- warming story. Sister Agnes put her life in mortal danger, to help a family, with very young children, in desperate need for the safety of their own lives. Their is no better way for me to deliver this amazing story, than to publish the written records that have come my way. So below are three records, the first of which, a recognition by THE CATHOLIC HERALD, has a late photo of Sister Agnes. John Ward, Blaisdon Brotherhood Website Manager, February 2011 Thanks to Sister Joan, Provincial Archivist, for providing the three items below
