Below is a copy of a framed prose, written by Hilary Jayne, a good
friend of Father Sean and Blaisdon.
We've 40 years of Sean to thank since 1962
Forty years of kindness, his wise or witty word
In Farnborough or Chertsey
And Blaisdon in between
Remember summers camping at the Hall -
Sean's host and shopping skills? His rugby undeterred
By Sale or Bath or Harlequins
Since 1962
Kingsholm knows Sean's deafening bawl
And surely you've heard
Mitchelstown to Sloop, his shout
Or maybe at Blaisdon in between
But should he sing you hear an angel call
Sweet as Ballyragger's blackbird
Until the Emerald Isle sent Sean to us
Just before 1962
He sheds his light upon our way so we walk tall
By love and laughter stirred
To follow upwards on our path. (Meanwhile he's off -
Rome, Turin, Jerusalem and Ireland in between)
More than a model Salesian. Sean's friend and priest to all -
Lost or lonely, happy or sad, confident or unheard
For 40 years since 1962
In Farnborough, Battersea, Bollington too
In Blaisdon and a thousand hearts between.
